nero probs

when i burn from mp3 to audio cd using nero i get a message asking if i would like to enable overburn as it says the compilation/data is too much to fit onto an 80 min/700mb disc.The compilation is not to big to fit onto disc as the bar at the bottom tells me it's only going to use up 42 mins ,however nero also tells me the total capacity for burning is ...
the total capacity on disc is only 4mb
i have checked the discs and tried other ones and they are all 700mb/80 mins cd-r ,but nero keeps telling me they only have 4mb .This has only just started happening ,i've never had any problems before so why has this just started happening now ?
anybody got any ideas ?. Just for information that might help i'm using nero express and my writer is a plextor 52/24/52A.

What Nero version are you using, m8? I suggest you update to the latest version as I remember 1 of the older 6.x version has a bug that keeps telling you the disc is full.

Also, remember to update your ASPI drivers (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.jsp?cat=%2fProduct%2fASPI-4.70).

thanx for the info i bought a new plextor a couple of months ago and the software came with it ,it says nero express ,only trouble is when i installed it ,it never asked me for a authorisation/key code and i don't seem to have got one within the software package/leaflets ,i presume to update my version i will have to give one is that correct? if so any other ideas ? thanx .

Some OEM Nero versions have built-in serial numbers and they can be used only on the drives they came with. These OEM versions have limited burning features and in order to upgrade to a full version, you need to order a full version key.

Try uninstalling Nero then delete the Nero folder in \Program Files before reinstalling it to see if it fixes the problem.
