Assuming that the motherboard supports all types of RAM, is it possible to install say 1 stick of PC3200 Ram, and 1 stick of PC2100 ram. Basically to mix and match...

Or do you have to install the same type of RAM? So say for example if you already have PC3200 and you want to add extra RAM would you have to install another PC3200 or could you install PC2100/PC2700 alongside the PC3200.

This is just something i was wondering about.

You can throw in absolutely whatever you want, so long as your mobo supports the speed BUT however many chips you put in, they will ALL run at the same speed as the slowest chip.

Example

Your motherboard will take three chips.
You install 1 stick of PC2700, 1 stick of PC4000 and 1 stick of PC3200.
EACH CHIP will run at PC2700 speeds.
