ntsc to pal

Hi,
Nice to be back in the forum ....... my first question. Can a dvd be converted from NTSC to PAL ....... got a family DVD from the USA & it looks awful & been told cos its in NTSC format. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it is possible. Now I assume this is interlaced 29.97 NTSC?

Does it look ok on your PC though? Because PC's don't care if it is NTSC or PAL.

Best bet is to use AVISynth, however there are multiple ways to go about it. My advice would be to check out the AVISynth forum over at doom9. You will find various threads over there with different scripts for doing such a job.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure what NTSC it is .... & it does look ok on pc. Will have a look on Doom & give it a go.
