Advice wanted on "Open Tray" Error.

Hi, I have a sammy drive in my 360 and every backup I load into it reads for a bit and goes straight to "Open Tray" I have tried a DVD in the 360 and it loads fine also does an original game.

After looking about various forums I noticed the rubber band trick method which I done to the drive but doesn’t seem to have done the trick, I had a go with 3 or 4 different size rubber bands and the one that’s in it now booted the game 5 or 6 times so I put the 360 back together and when I powered it up it was there again "Open Tray" has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it (I can post pics of the rubber band that’s in the drive if it helps). Or could it be a problem with the Laser/Drive? Or even corrupt firmware?

Ive attached a picture of where the rubber band is. I removed the previous rubber band and replaced it with a larger one.. i seem to be geting more luck with backups reading but it still 1 in every 10 will boot up.

try getting a differnet drive and flashing it

if i was to update the firmware on the drive u think it would sort it?

It can do no harm really, There was a samsung firmware that gave open tray errors (5.1 i think).....Well it never gave open tray errors, there were reports that it help contribute.
