I just bought a new wireless router (netgear DG834G) and can't seem to connect to it wirelessly through my laptop or my psp.

If I connect my lappy to it with a cable then I could access the internet and router settings. I disabled any security I could see, open access, broadcast on, no MAC address list (although I tried setting my MAC addy in it as well).

I could see the router's ssid in "View Avaliable Wireless Networks", it's listed as an unsecured wireless network and signal strengh is full but I can't connect to it. Tried setting up WEP, and WPA on the router and setting the passwords into my computer settings but still can't connect that way either.

Here's an overview of the settings as pasted from the router page

Name (SSID)ngaccess
RegionEurope
Channel11 (Don't know what this is? should I change it?)
Wireless APEnabled
Broadcast NameEnabled

Any idea what the problem is? Maybe something to do with my network bridge? Some other thing I overlooked?

should be easy to do if your setting up the right information
but first you need to give a wep authentication and security encryption keys on the router first

then you go to the laptop and put the same information on the receiving wireless card program from the router
it will ask for the password

did you boot up the software that came with the wireless unit for the laptop

allso make sure you get rid of the default name and password as you dont want people logging into your router and changing information

enclose is the booklet straight forwards

allso what i notice with this type router the hardware firewall is great
you only need a firewall to pickup out going packets and connections

incoming total secure on the net

hope this helps you
