What is TATX_Debug_Dual bios???

Hi, Could some1 pls tell me what on earth is this prog "TATX_Debug_Dual bios", can't seem to find it anywhere?? Is there an alternative prog? Thanks.

Its used to turn a regular xbox into a dev kit(debugger) to make homebrew stuff.

I am trying to capture screen shot & video off my xbox via my pc, and it's been suggested that i need TATX dual debug bios or an alternative debug bios program in order to do the capturing. Can you tell me if there's a similar program pls?? Thanks alot.

I don't think there is a similar program and the way you are talking about sounds really complicated.

The easiest way would be to just get a tv tuner card for your pc that has composite hookups.

TATX is one of the best and easiest to use for screen capture, far easier and cheaper than having to run through a t.v card IMO.

...There are a few other Debug bios's kicking about, all do much the same, u need to hunt the 'usual places' m8 :)

so do you
a) have a 1.0 or 1.1 xbox (not sure that this is a major issue could just be it was released pre 1.2+)
b) have a mod chip that can handle a 512k bios? (e.g. no lpc modchip (http://xbox-scene.com/modchips3b_cheapmod.php)- apple/matrix/aladdin)
c) the Xbox development kit (XDK)?

Hi, yeah my xbox modchip can handles 512k bios. I got xbox v1.1 with Xecuter pro 2.0 chip installed, i don't what are the alternative prog are called, so dunno where to search for something i don't even know is called?? Can ne1 help??


I got XBTools 1.xx.122, will this prog work as an aletrnative??? Thanks alot!!

PS: Is capturing screen better via the hardware (TV card) or software method (TATX...)??? OR both the same?

TATX isn't a software method, it's a name of a BIOS, It's a BIOS that allows u to remotely Debug, which is part of the software development process. Not sure if u can link where the BIN file can be found, but if u trawl through 'xbox-scene', u will probably find the file at the 'usual places' i.e.#x***s

...XBTools is purely a program that allows u to modify a BIOS/BIN image, no use to u at the moment.

Capturing the screen image straight out of the Xbox is better than going through a t.v card (u should be able to get a higher resolution)

...The only trouble is u really need to be running the Xbox SDK to make the most of all this, and the SDK is only legally available to developers!!!

...So in summary it looks like u r gonna have to use a t.v card, especially as u don't appear to be sure about the 'basics'.

...U run the risk of scr*wing your Xbox if u don't know exactly what to do, at least running through a t.v card won't risk damaging your Xbox!
