View Full Version : How can I convert itunes downloads into MP3/WMA files?

Where Did I Go?

High all,

I have never used itunes before, but thinking of starting. As I will be travelling quite alot, I would like to use downloaded songs in the car, but I don't have an ipod.

I have been reading around to see if\how itunes downloads can be converted, but seeing mixed messages, about burning to cd and ripping, or other methods. I can imagine this manual burning of cd's and re-ripping to be quite time consuming, and have read that sometimes it doesn't work.

I just wondered if anyone knew if it was possible, and if so, what sort of software is required.

Appreciate any help,

Kind Regards

Hi mate,

You can use dBPowerAMP (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/) or Lame MP3 Encoder (http://lame.sourceforge.net/index.php).

Take care.

are you talking about taking DRM (protected) files and outputting them to normal mp3, then playing on an mp3 CD in the car? Wouldn't it be easier to get an FM transmitter and use your iPod in the car?
