Sound Warped

Whenever i insert a CD and play it on my PC, i get a warped sound.. kind of like slow motion?

Any idea on how to fix the problem? Or whats goin wrong?

Windows XP pal.. its a fairly new PC aswell.

First, download and apply the latest DirectX 9.0c (April07 package) (http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.html). If it doesn't fix the problem, you'll also need to update the audio driver. If you can't find the driver, please tell the make/model of your mobo or the add-in soundcard.
