ALL: Banned or Not Banned - Lets figure out why!

Posted this on BST but yet to any avail.


Please Guys if you have been banned or even Not banned can you please answer a few questions. Might help deduce what the cause is somewhat.

1) were you offline, tried once to log in, but you couldnt, or were you online and probably caught out by being online. Or have you even been online with no problems?

My reason for this is detecting wether M$ has a central database of banned Eproms, or something been downloaded onto the machine itself saying it has been banned


2) What drive and FW did you use


3) Did you ever have other FW on your 360 that wasnt the latest version? if so which


It could be M$ had a database and detected many many months ago which users were using modded 360s, thus even with new stealth models, the eprom has already been blacklisted.


4) Is it a refurb?

Without the case of M$ making some massive mistakes, I can only guess that all the non modded banned users were refurbs, that either had in the past or still has dodgy FW. not many people have complained relative to how many genuine users there are. But think of the millions of refurbs that would have been done. I know cases of M$ sending machines to people with dodgy firmware on it!

6) Ever been on live with two different types of firmware? Ie original and modded? 2 diff types of modded etc




I think it would be good to sus out any common factors to being banned,

I only went on live for about 30mins last night on dashboard talking to a mate whilst discussing what we were reading about the problem over the web.

So at 9pm last night i was not banned

1) was online last night briefly, not banned as yet that I am aware of - havent dared go on since

2) Hitachi v46 with 2.3 firmware on it

3) No always been 2.3 since i got it

4) No its not a refurb

5) Yes, Lost planet and the beta version of crackdown

6) No only 2.3 (not been on with original)

Online till 1am this morning with no problems - Halo 3 via Crackdown scene backup. Not been back on to check today though

Had 2.3 on for about 6 months now

Before 2.3 I only ever had the original unmodded firmware

Went on last night with no problems. Signed in but playing offline.

Samsung drive, don't know the firmware, but it's at least 6 months old

Have TWO 360's here, both with exact same specs (mine and my son's):


1. Went online with Halo2 last night, played matches fine. Also logged in today no probs

2. Samsung25 and MS28 drives 5.2 firmware on both(never upgraded to 5.3 because I heard of some people having small issues with it)

3. Have used the original release of extreme firmware, and 3.1 online in the past.

4. Mine is not refurbished, MS HAS refurbished my son's-came back with a MS28 Sammy.

5.I knew better than to go online with an unreleased game (my son too)

6. I have been online with Extreme 1.0, 3.1, and 5.2 on BOTH consoles.

7. My ISP is Sprint Broadband CA.

I also have a Hitachi 78 which is still factory state. I have been 'saving it' for this day, but I haven't needed it YET.
Also I did a friend's 360, his is a Hitachi78 done with toolbox 3.0 and he has been BANNED.....ouch.

been online with GRAW 2 and Virtual Tennis 3 last night and throughout the day today with no probs

Samsung with 5.3 firmware (now banned)
Hitachi (before a v78) with 2.4 firmware
Hitachi (before a v78) with 2.4 firmware

the 2 Hitachis are my mates who I've been online with today with no problems which I flashed for them.

Played Halo 3 all night last night (rented an original to do this), wasnt banned as of this morning but daren't go on anymore to check lol!

Yoda the console that has been banned.... has it ever been on live with more than one type of firmware?? even the original??

I know you answered above, but just triple checking, I thought you could be safe if you have flashed it straight outta the box n never connected to live until you put the new FW on. then never changing that FW once after.
