Hi
my daughter has recently gone to work abroad for the summer and I used to be quite happy diverting my calls through one-tel which costs me about 4p a minute plus a 5p connection charge and £2 per month admin fee. Does anyone know of a cheaper phone company that does the same kind of thing cheaper. I have noticed Tele2 advertised which states it is only 1p a minute but I am unsure as to whether there are any hidden charges. It says there is a per minute charge for calling up their 0844 number through BT plus the 1p per minute call charge abroad. It does however state that if you have free minutes on your mobile some networks allow you to use this - sounds too good to be true. has anyone used this service and does anyone know if orange everday 50 minutes count as free on this basis. would be grateful for any recommendations cos dont want to get ripped off when my phone bill arrives.
Thanks

Not sure if it will help but you can phone for free over the internet using this (http://www.skype.com/) program.

Hi catkin
Thanks for the web address. I have had a look and cant believe its only 1p per minute. Is there a separate charge on your BT account as I had a look at a couple of sites and they stated it was 1p per minute plus approx 10p per minute to dial through this 0844 number. Can you let me know.

Not sure about the internet phone calls as I dont have a headset and cant always call my daughter on the same phone number.

My daughter is in Majorca by the way.

Thanks all - your help is appreciated.

There are no extra charges or minimum call charge, if it states 1p per minute that is all you will pay, so a 10 minute call will be 10p.

Three members of my family are using it without any problems.
