Well, if you want to spend a bit more than the A60 deal you could get the canon A70 :)

The canons are great cameras, end of story. If you want to know about the alternatives you could look up some reviews eg for the A60), they usually do comparisons with similar cameras, then you can decide which you like best.

EDIT: don't forget you'll probably end up spending a bunch more money on decent heavy duty batteries, charger, case, memory card ...

Also the new A75 is out too which is cheaper than the A70, now I thought the higher the number the higher the model/price etc ?!?!

Yeah, the prices don't seem to have caught up with the new models coming out. Strange.
I guess the A70 will start to be discounted now as well (although I've seen the A70 for £160 which is pretty good value)

About 4 months ago, I did a ton of research on digital cameras and the reputable review sites rated these 3 the highest consistently:

- Nikon 4300
- Canon A70
- Canon S45 (think that's right)

I opted for the Nikon at the time as I got the best deal on it and b/c the Canon lacked some features I wanted. In auto mode, pictures taken indoors are off-color. However, in manual mode, it takes excellent pics indoors and out. I set it once in manual and haven't had to change it since.
