Welcome to Compuhelp
When you say it wont let you remove it .... what exactly happens .... any error message ?
Also .... have you just tried installing again over existing version ?

Have tried installing again but it says cannot change file path?, if I try to uninstall I get this message,
"Installer initialization failed due to the following error:
Undefined error: Initialization of the setup data file failed.
Opening of the setup data file "C" failed.
No such file or directory"

Run the installation again and choose the 'Repair' option and follow the wizard ..... see if this helps.

Hmmmmm. sounds like you have other things going on in the box.
Have you had good Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software installed, prior to this happeniing ?
Did you have other Anti-Vrus/Spyware software installed before attempting the AVG Installation ? ...... if so, did you remove it before trying the AVG install ?
Can you boot into Safe Mode ?
You didn't have Norton installed by any chance ?
