I don't need to use bitsetting anymore?

Can anyone confirm to me that I don't need to use bitsetting anymore on the latest firmwares?

I've got another DL burner in my laptop that doesn't support Bitsetting and I could be be buning 360 games in half the time:round:

Also, is it easier to make a backup of a backup? Do I still need a special firmware in my PC drive to read a backup like an original 360 disc?

Supposedly the latest firmware for the Sammy drive will allow you to do this but it isn't available for any of the other 360 DVD-ROM drives.
