Ok basically I have a Qosmio G20 laptop made by Toshiba. The laptop is great but now my mum and her partner have just bought a brand new Samsung HDTV.

The problem I am having is this, my laptop does not have a dvi out, it has an Analog VGA out and something called a D Video out. Now after researching on the net this is called something like "D Terminal". Now I have a cable which has this D Video connection but it goes to a Scart connection. Now obviously sending a D Video into Scart is pretty useless for getting a HD signal so I obviously need this so called D Video to either HDMI or Component.

But I cannot find one in europe it seems, or maybe just not looking in the right places. Here is a thread on the Toshiba forum about the current situation
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/jive3/thread.jspa?threadID=11821

Now this thread is quite old, so surely getting hold of a Digital Video / D terminal to Component or HDMI should be a lot easier. In the thread one of the guys says he actually dismantled the "european" D Video to Scart, taking off the scart end and connected up the 3 hd connectors (component connections i guess) and said it worked, but obviously I ain't going to be capable of this!

I don't mind buying the cable from the USA or Japan, but I obviously need to find a cable :( I would appreciate anyone having a look as I am just about to try on ebay and see what is around!

Any Help greatly appreciated!

btw this is the kinda cable I think i need

Does the Samsung HDTV have a VGA Input?

If so use this.

The Proprietary Digital Output on the Toshiba you have outputs composite only.

If it did send component out over the Scart Connector (Which is Possible) you shoud be able to use the cable u have. But it does not do this.
