Dvd Drive Packed up

I updated the firmware on my pioneer 106rd to proper 106 and now it won't power up. How bad is this , can I get it working again...

I could be wrong here (And I hope I am) but if it won't power up at all then it's unlikely you will be able to re-flash it.

I think it's probably a bin job.

(But before you bin it, hold out for some other helpful member proving me wrong)

Yup, a mate of mine murdered his DVD drive via a firmware flash - he jumped through all sorts of hoops trying to get it back to life and never managed it (he made such a fuss that the manufacturers sent him a new one :) ).

Rule of thumb, if its working - don't flash it!
