I have a spare hard drive from my xbox, which i upgraded a while ago.
My xbox has a executinor 2 chip in it,
what i want to know is:
can i put the hard drive back in my xbox and soft mod it so it would work on another unchipped xbox?
any help appreciated

You can't do it like that.
You would have to lock the hard disk for it to work in the unchipped Xbox and you can't do that without the unchipped boxes EEPROM.

I've never done one of these but as i understand it, if the original drive came from your modded xbox and is locked you need to put it back into the modded one, get the eeprom and hdkey from it
then softmod the unmodded one ftp that info to it, put the old drive in lock it with the info you have and then "unmod it" delete all the mod related files and restore it to its unmodded state.
Whats wrong with the drive currently in the unmodded xbox?

There is a way, soft-modding it. But that's what you want to do so why bother swapping hard drives?
