How can I reset my ipod video? its stuck!

Just got back from the gym and my iPod video is showing the screen of playing half way through a track, but i cant seem to switch it off to rest back to the main menu.

Is there a way of resetting the iPod ???

This actually just just happened to me yesterday. What i did was plug it into the charger, i came back in 1 hour and it was back to the main menu..

If it means anything i was playing one of the rolling stones top 500 songs..

Hold menu and select until the apple logo appears, this should do a sift reset. All songs etc will still be there

Is this known to happen alot? I just purchased a nano and it happened with in 2 day of purchase. My gf had it and it killed the battery as it was stuck for that for 6 hours, she wasnt sure what to do with it, wanted to return the thing?

Its a simple fix now that i informed her how to do it. But still, whys it happening to begin with, the ipod is 2 days old
