Autoplay pop up in xp

I keep getting an autoplay pop up box every 15 seconds, sometimes as many as eight at a time. Goggled for answers but nothing fits the bill, tried the autoplay repair wizard and it reports its fine.CD in the drive autoplays but when empty this pop up drives me daft. Any suggestions?

Have you tried WinXP Autorun Repair Wizard (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/Windows-XP-autorun-repair-wizard.shtml)? If it doesn't fix the problem, try Autoplay Repair (http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Autoplay-Repair.shtml) (not Autoplay Repair Wiz from MS).

Also if you are running XP Pro, you could try turning off Autoplay in Group Policy.
I may be wrong, but I dont think you can access this on XP Home.

Go to Start/Run type in gpedit.msc .... then go to Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates and highlight System.
One of the options is 'Turn Off Autoplay' double click this and choose 'Enabled' then Apply.

As is always the case the pop up has stopped when I switched on this moring. Will try both solutions when it returns, thanks for you time and suggestions.
