How do i tell whether i have sata or sata2

As title says. Do ihave sata1 or sata2 ?

The obvious thing is SATA 3Gb/s ports and cables have latching snap type connectors to keep the cable more secure than the previous SATA 1.5Gb/s. However, you need to see what SATA controller(s) the system has and you can tell from there.
