My Shuffle is not being recognized on the USB port as a device by my new(er) Dell, with which I have had countless problems! This is a new development. First it was just one USB port, but now it is both. I had some overall problems with the one USB port awhile ago and was hoping that would not cause a continued problem. The Shuffle will not charge (was working fine last week) but Itunes will update it. Weird. The amber light is on solid, meaning it is not charging. The message says Windows does not recognize the device, as it has malfunctioned and if I try again and same thing, I need to "replace the device". What does that mean? Now I have to buy a new shuffle in addition to the Ipod I already replaced once and now I can hear the hard drive whirring again (its little death rattle)!? Maybe I need to replace the crappy DELL! How frustrating! :director: I have the automatic updates turned on, so I am not sure what I can do to fix this. Anyone?
THANKS!

you'd be best posting this in the appropriate forum (http://www.dvdrom-guide.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=50) rather than the members lounge

my nephew had a similar problem with his, in the end it would only work on the ports that were directly connected to the motherboard and were set as USB1.1 (disabled 2.0 in device manager)
