Been using it for 3 days now, it does look amazing and just feels much smoother than XP.
Had a few issues with finding new version of the common apps i use but now im running smoothly with zero problems, apart from a few niggly things in IE7.
I dont play games anymore on pc so i havent tried any, i may install something this weekend just to see what it runs like.
Overall im well happy with it.

used it for a few minutes, (http://www.dvdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?p=97603#post97603) it's definately nicer to use than XP, it's on a par with Mac OS X I think (the wife uses that)

installed Ultimate a few days back, found all hardware and setup everything without any probs. Currently have all the programs that i had with Xp now on Vista without any issue's (although i did have to find some vista comptabile ones), but the majority work fine still.

I am using the business edition on my laptop. The only problem I had in the beginning was no audio, but I resolved that by using the xp driver. Now I keep getting an ATI.exe stop functioning everyday. I am still trying to get used it. I can't say whether I like it or not.

I installed business on one of my desktop, installation went ok on a P4/3.2 with 2GB/160GB, took 30 mins and ready, problem started with it picked up the Ti4200AGP and forced the Microsoft drivers in, the graphics is jerky when moving/resizing windows, so I went to nVidia and download the latest GF/Vista x86 drivers, Vista wouldnt have any of it, insisting that the Vista driver is newer and 'better', manual install result the same, XP driver also failed. My TV cards also failed to work correctly and I suspect that the drivers caused Vista to BSOD on two occasions.
Overall it look pretty, kinda like OSX but stronger colors, as its Windows, didnt take long to find things around, in deep, it just uses more fancy icons and changed the positions where they used to sit, I didnt find it easy to use, and afer using XP for that many years, and grown to know the in's and out's, it will be difficult to change to Vista as I can't really see any advantage or gains.
I think its ideal for new users or older people as the interface seem a lot more 'graphical' to give the impression of 'simple'. The fact that Microsft made so many versions of Vista is to me, a stupid, confusing and long winded decision, may be its one way to force users to buy a new version when they find the one they are using doesnt do this or that.
From a business's point of view, I cant see any of my customers using Vista for the next year or two as we always operate on the principle of 'it works, why change', secondly, the hardware requirement is much more higher that XP and for some of our clients to upgrade 50 workstations would be a huge bill plus days of downtime, not to mention any unseen/unknown problems that may come up and bite their butts.
No doubt Microsoft will do the same with Vista, by forcing software manufactures to do more on Vista and eventually the software can only run well and supported on Vista platforms, hopefully I will be retired by then. :)
Like Snatcher, I cant say if I really like it or not, but I am not giving up my XP for Vista any time soon.

I'm with duffy on this one .... I cant really see any compelling reason to change at the moment. There seems to be a more compelling argument to stay with XP and avoid all the potential driver/compatibility issues.
I am currently thinking of a new box and the thought of putting Vista on it, leaves me cold. Apart from the pretty interface and the 'Fisher Price'ish' icons ...... where is the GAIN ? ;)
