Hi Guys,
believe me I have tried almost everything to get this working, and i'm on the verge of sending the pc on holiday!
I had simple file sharing activated on my old set-up XP Home (Study Machine) > MCE (Lounge Machine) worked perfectly and great way to stream MP3. However I changed my Study machine, which now has XP Pro and can't get it working, spent 3 days on this!
Machines have same workgroup name, have unique names "Study" (XP Pro) and "Lounge" (MCE), network wizard run on both, I can see both PC's in the Workgroup View on both machines, I can access the MCE machine from the XP Pro but not the other way round!
On the XP Pro machine made sure administrator account was the same name as MCE, I turned on Guest User and I also ran machine in safe mode and made all shared folders fully acssible to everyone.
I even ran regedit updates changing settings as advised in DEUSER=0 (from memory).
Really starting to get to me as on MCE machine when I try to access XP Pro machine it says permissions are not set, when they are...
