For some unknown reason my computer has started to do different characters to the ones that are shown on the key. I.E: I press the hash key and | comes up. I press the at key but " comes up instead.

Does anyone know how i can fix this?

change the keyboard settings from US to UK

Have you changed the regional settings as well?

Under XP, theres another setting hidden within the KB/Region, I think its Local Input, you also need to change it to UK in order for the correct keys are mapped.

I did this for someone few weeks ago, but as I dont have XP here, I cant tell you step by step how to.
