finding cd key in registry?

hey

steam messed up so had to create a new username but now its asking for the cd key again but theres no box here (at a friends) so how do i find it in the registry?

i am a complete n00b with searching in there so advice is much appreciated

Download AIDA32 (http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php) and look under Software>>>>Licenses.

managed to find out other key codes but cant see steam in there or anywhere else for that matter but its definately on the machine :confused:

Then you might have to do a search of your Registry and hope it's not encrypted.
