aol and firewall

i use aol dial up to connect to the net and run windows xp. when i go into network connections, select the aol connection and click change settings nothing happens. i would like to enable the firewall but the properties bx will not open. does anyone have any ideas on how i can enable the firewall?

I've encountered this before as well. It appears as if the Windows XP firewall cannot be activated to protect an AOL connection. My suggestion to a friend who had this issue is to download and install the free third party ZoneAlarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp) firewall.
