The 4x Ritek dye (known as the G04 dye)

Bought the above media in a box of 25 as I had just bought a new Epso R200.
My first disk was a copy of a ripped DVD.
The ripped dvd was on datawrite red and work fine in my Sony stand alone dvd player.
However I copied the DVDr to the Ritek disk using Nero 6 (one of the latter versions) and copied the image to hard drive first. using a pioneer a06

When I tried the disk in my stand alone it kept freezing. I have used datawrite original and reds without problem and have not realy been bothered before about what discs i used (probably very lucky)

I have herd that their are some dodgy riteks about at the moment and i think it will be the media if anything. Does anybody know if the media I have bought could be part of the poor the poor quality time.

Any sugestions for a good quality ink jet printable would be good.

Cheers

I would also try burning more than 1 before worrying if its the media, After all we all get coasters now and again regardless of the media type.

Yeah the printable Riteks are generally not included in the "dodgy" category and should be OK -- especially with the Sony players which I've found to be very tolerant of marginal media.

Perhaps it was scratched? I'm sure we've all come across problems from time to time with the top and bottom disc of a spindle, these are the ones which tend to get radial scratches (the worst type) in transit. A tiny round scratch can be ten times worse than a massive straight one.
