Xbox 360 connecting to lcd hd tv prob!!!

Im probably doing something wrong but im lost with this!!

havnt had much time on xbox since i got it last year had it connected to norm tv, worked fine.
just got it flashed, worked fine. got hd lcd and connected it the other night worked fine, but pic dint seem much better. last night in the wee hours found myself trying changing the connections about and got a super pic but no sound!!! any ideas why? using cable that came with the xbox, 3 cables into a scart for norm use and for hd the other 3 cables in the correct ports on the tv and the switch on the cable for hd.... changed settings on xbox for pic but like i say no sound at all!!!!

any ideas ???

Turn the volume up?

you need to plug the red and the white cables into the audio in on the back of your tv

Also go into the settings and make sure you are pumping out at 1080i or 1080p depending on how good your lcd is ---thats after you've sorted the sound btw

I imagine it is related to having too many cables in/not having them in the right holes, I was messing about with mine for a while before I got sorted too
