Wanna Know What Drives In Your 360 Before You Buy

Well here it is peeps a sure fire way to tell what drive is in your 360 before you buy it & be guarenteed to get a drive you know your going to be able to flash .

I have brought 8 360's from comet this week using this web site & each drive has been correct as per website , ive had the bloke in comet running backwards & forwards to make sure i get what i need .

But the basic rule of thumb is LOT NUMBER 0630 & BELOW so if you intend buying a 360 for yourself or a pressie make sure ya partners at home & take a mobile phone with ya so that what they bring out you can check simple

It's just not comprehensive though. Just before Christmas I got an 0634 with a Hitachi 59 in from Argos.

Use as a guide sure but it's not conclusive. Anyway with 78's holding no barriers now thanks to Maximus it's really not a problem now anyway.

It does if you don't have compatible SATA ports or you want the ease of using the USB flasher. I went through hell the last few days trying to get it to flash. I finally got it swapped for a V47DJ and man am I kicking myself for not picking up a 360 a couple of months ago. Made things a hell of alot easier. As for the list well that's nice and all but it isn't very up to date.

The v78s *should* work fine through a USB flasher. I can't get my X360USB to work with one though. Had no problems through either NForce3 chipset.

The compatibility of SATA ports is an issue on all 360 drives regardless of brand/model.

NOPE!!!!!!!! The USB360 WILL NOT work with the V78 and they don't know when or if it will ever be compatible. Even if it did the Maximus 3.0 (currently the only software that flashes the V78 drives) will NOT work with the USB360. This info comes directly from the team Xecutor folks as I went through this just a few weeks back.

I must have a faulty usb360 then.... Its flashed a couple of v78s.

I think you will find some do and some dont.
