What's the best way to apply thermal paste to a cpu/cooler?
Do I use a lot or just a small blob? And onto the cpu or the heatsink?
Does anyone have any links with pictures please? :)
Cheers

Depends on which cpu.

Perfect, thanks :)
It's an AMD Athlon XP 2600+
One more question, do the different types of this cpu run hotter/cooler? I have one with the Thoroughbred core.

yes the thourobred does run slightly hotter than the barton but that does not matter if you are gonna use a decent cooler and some arctic silver

Just installed it with "Cooler master Premium" paste and it's still running at 53c idle, same as when I just had the standard heatsink paste that was already on there... that seems a little warm doesn't it? :/
I'm using a Coolermaster Aero 7 Lite at full speed.
