How do you do your Ms28s?
Ive been using cheap *** sata card with Via "A" chipset and it blew up and bought the same card again and I cant get it to work.
Anybody use an onboard sata for these doing 10 sec trick?
If yes which mobo u using?
Ive heard there is an Asus mobo which flashes ms28s like normal samsungs.
So at the moment I have to remove the chip to reprogram :(

seems like a long winded way to program them, when surely it would be easier to just use the non-compatible (with the 10 sec method) mchipset and just do the vcc method (switch)

Didnt really do the vcc as I got it to work the other method before..
So does the vcc work on all chipsets including intel ones?

I brought my via 6421L card from shinyhardware , the driver disk that came with it was useless just wanted to use the card as a raid device but after updating latest drivers from via arena mint .
You will need the lastest xtreme boot maker & a floppy as it easier simply run thru xbm you wont need to edit mtk with this program just make sure you choose the right card in xbm as it does give a few options
Only 1 thing ive found is that since i made my xbm disk i formatted & it wouldnt work again so just redid xbm could have been summat to do with the ms32 info
But works a treat for me

I use the VCC method. 4 screws, off comes the drive cover, unclip the board, undo the 3 accessible ribbon cables, turn it over towards the front and undo the 4th cable.
Small blob of solder on either end of the resistor then slide it off with the iron. Attach the switch, hook it up to the pc, run a custom made batch file that takes care of mtkflash and kdx42, switching/repowering before mtkflash runs. Disconnect, remove the switch and relink the points with some more solder. Easy.

i use my MSI K8T Neo which has onboard SATA and the 10sec trick on m28's.
I disable the Sata ports in bios, turn on pc after raid detection screen turn on xbox360 (if i do this before it'll just hang in bios). Get to A prompt with bootable floppy and files, type in the mtkflash r /m orig.bin, i get choice of IDE1,2 and via (via being the xbox360), turn off 360 then press enter, wait for over 10secs, turn on 360 and backup starts, then boot into windows run the Make X42a.bin, then repeat to flash with "mtkflash w /m x42b.bin
takes about 5 mins
