I just copied NBA2k7 and each time I try to start a game the system shuts itself off... I was playing viva pinata the other day and it did the same thing... I haven't had any problems with my other games... Could a bad burn do this? I would think it would freeze but it just shuts the entire system off...

What media are you using ?

Ritek...

I highly doubt a certain brand of dvdr is going to turn the xbox off if that's what your getting at.

Try some Verbatims, might help. You'd be surprised how much of a difference there is between these and any other brand of dual layer disc.

people say that, but I don't really believe it.

I've used single layer verbatims and their not any better then any other kind of dvdr.

you mean apart from the fact that it's a superior dye that lasts longer than the other dye's, I've got films burnt on media since the beginning and the crappy dye ones gave up and no longer play, the Ritek discs are struggling to load or have given up completly, but the TY and the Verb discs are still playing perfect.

Yep ..... one thing you could try is copying the 'iffy' disk to a Verb .... assuming it's readable on the PC, of course.

There's a lot more difference between cheap discs and verbs when it comes to dual layer compared to single layer.

I have an old Ps2 here, v4, chipped. It will play the DVD sector of a 360 game on a Verbatim, but not on any cheaper DL media.
