I'm getting a modded 360 for xmas and I understand most games are DVD9 so I need to upgrade my DVD burner. I don't want to pay out too much but I want one that will do the 360 games without problems. Is there a specific make/model I should go for or does it not really matter? Any links to good cheap DVD burners would be appreciated.
Thanks

The Pioneer 111D is most folks weapon of choice.
You will also need the latest version of Clone CD (5.2.9.1)

Sorry to jump the thread, just got my 360 and was wondering do I have to use Clone, seen some guides for DVD Decrypter which I just have to manually put layer break value in... is that about it?

You can use imgburn too, or possibly DVD decrypter. I find CloneCD very easy to use though - push the write button, pick the file, pick the drive, burn.

I can't say that i agree as for one IMG burn is free and all you need to do is set the layer break once if you are only going to be burning 360 dual layer discs and i have not had one bad burn yet.

I use imgburn.
I thought the layer break was set by the .dvd file ?

Well .... it's albout opinions here, if imgburn works for you, that's great.
I have never had a bad burn with CloneCD ;)

Cheers. And it's not a bad price either coming in at under £30 at most places! Also thanks for all the other advice regarding what software to use.
Also is there a specific brand and type of disc I should be looking for? Am I right that it should be a +R and what's the difference between dual layer and double layer?

mostly everyone on here recommends verbatim double layer dvd+r disc's,
as far as i know dual layer and double layer are the same disc.

Yeah I got some from WCW ... arrived today (ordered Mon).
A little bit dearer than SVP, but if you want them fast they are good.
I got my Verb Printables from www.aprmedia.co.uk
£94 delivered for 50 nexta day delivery.
I also use a 111d - firmware 1.23
I use ClonCD v5.2.9.1, used IMGBurn twice and only had 1 good burn.
