If the rumoir is true we could soon be using this new NME modchip for HITACHI v78's according to our friends at TEAMUNDERDOG the new chips is nearly ready which will apparently do all version of samsung & hitachi roms
obviously a bonus for those of us who are not brave enuff to attempt the removal of the sst chips on the 78's

As this seems to be a rumour only time will tell i guess ?????

Only downside is all the games need to be burned differently for the NME chip as the security sector is read from a different place.

Theres a couple more chips coming out very soon which will do the same

From the picture i've seen these are an improvement in quality on the original NMEs.

I saw this and it has made me seriously think about getting an xbox 360 now!
It only takes 2seconds to patch and reburn and since I dont have any disks yet it has got me pretty pumped!!!

What is supposed to be out in a few weeks Phoneguy?
The new version of the nme360 chip wont hit the stores to the beginning of Dec

I saw this cheap as well and it looks like a good idea. I don't mind patching the games. is there a better chipped released yet?

if you have a v78 hitachi just use the v3 toolbox flashing method much easier

the V78's are the easiest to flash

dvdsrus05 is correct. There's really no reason why you'd want to go for a chip over a firmware flash now.

accept if you dont have access to a sata connection and you do have access to a soldering iron and you have the ability to do it yourself

True. It'd be cheaper (and has more features in the case of Samsungs) to send it off to get flashed though, assuming you only post the drive.
