My original xbox with executer mod has started misbehaving (I think its dying!).

Sometimes on power up i get the contact microsoft 05 or 06 error message.

Other times the light round eject glows a bit orange and the console wont start at all.

Also, if i can get it working it usually crashes mid game, not so much of a crash, it just dies.

Any ideas? is it worth trying to get it repaired (as I dont know anywhere round Doncaster that does mods or repairs) Id prob have to send it off.

or bin it?

cheers in advance

What cost? Replacement harddrives are cheap. Prices will vary depending on where you shop but 300gb Seagates sold for $70 from Fry's over the weekend. 120gb typcially sell for $40~$60.

Unfortunately he is in the UK where rip-off prices are the norm for technology. So none of those prices will do him any good.
