was playing GOW last night online with my mate (i know this has nothing to do with why it happened)

then suddenly my xbox turns off. hmm i think. then 5seconds later i hear large cackling from the plug/power adapter area.

then the houses electricity cut off.

I tried changing the fuse for the power adapter plug, no luck. The power adapter light wont come on. I presume it has blown.

a) is it ppossible it has damaged the inside of the xbox? not just the power adapter..

b) Only had it a few weeks, obught online, but I have a reciept for an argos store too. Anyway can I change them there , just the power adapter, or will it have to go to M$?

if req c) I dont wanna have to send my xbox back, i have firmwared it. can i just send my power pack back??

Thanks for your help

This happened to me m8ty...
The PSU went...They wanted the whole lot back...

I ended up buying one from ebay for £49.99

If you can afford it you can make one from a pc power suplly :)

i cant afford it lol, i need this done cheap as possible. so M$ wont take it back without the console?
or even argos? U have no idea how much greif it has caused me to get a v46 new xbox, i can send them it back!!

I swear i have been cursed by xboxs, about 10 things so far in the space of a month went much worse than i cud have imagined!! not from the console alone, but from the stores n every thing else !!!

best thing to do in my opinion is.

borrow the cash for another corepack. go buy one.
take it home, and swap power supplys, and take it back bud.

they have to offer refund or replacement buddy, at your discression.

do it in the same day, just tell them youve decided against buying another 360 after its taken your houses electrics out.

nowt they can do bud, statutory rights ;)

Argos are pretty good with returns. At most all you'll have to do is phone microsoft (0800 number in the back of the manual), say you'd rather take it back to the shop than have them collect/swap it, get an authorisation reference number, then take it back to argos.
