how do i delete tracks from my nano

just bought a nano for my lad for crimbo and thought i would stick a few songs on for him, managed to do it ok, but put them on twice? anyway does anyone know how to delete tracks, i thought it would be just drag n drop like any normal mp3 player but it uses its own suite and the instuctions dont even tell you how to put tracks on let alone take them off.
