Splinter Cell 2, HELP, stuck, need tips

After several hours of pure luck, I find myself at the end of the game. I just climbed out the elevator shaft and into that big room with 3 regular workers and 3 terrorists. I have shot all the lights out, knocked out all the workers, I can see where I have to get to, however which ever way I go some terrorist seems to spot me. If i try and knock a terrorist out with a diversion camera, they all know and the timer goes off.
I have now been on this stage for 5 hours and starting to want to throw the console out the window, I need some help or tip so I can sleep again and put the game away forever.

Climb up to the level that the terrorist are on, making sure not to be spotted - remember to shoot the red light on the wall as well.

Then just have a shoot out, you should have plenty of time to shoot them with your rifle, and still run to the case.

Finished it an hour ago, phew. I used my handgun to distract the guards by shooting walls. Got to the top and just opened up with machine gun. I was not aware that you can shoot the red lights, everytime I do it they just bounce off. Will try that later.

I remember beating this, it was SOO hard. Actually, i installed a trainer which made me invisible and that's how i beat it. I think one of these days im gonna try it again. That was the only part of the game i cheated on.. IMO that game was game of the year :) I love it.
