I reformatted my bro's laptop and lost the Dell media center that was installed on it- i've searched through all the install discs that dell provided (it was a refurb machine), but couldn't find it on any of them

Does anyone know if it is possible to download the program? When i put it in google i just got a load of reviews which mentioned it was free but i can't actually find a download mirror for it- had a search through the dell.co.uk website, but its not there in the software/multimedia section

its not a major deal, i thought it looked quite cool though and makes it fairly idiot proof for my brother to organise his multimedia files.

here's hoping :)

Nope. dell has it's own set of media center software. I don't think there is anywhere that you can download it. Could try mirc/newsgroups/DC++ but it would be a hard serach before something decent will pop up. Have you try to contact Dell about this yet?

Yeah its looking like thats my only option then :(

Managed to find all the drivers and other free software on the dell US site (nothing on the europe site) but not the media center

Try calling them, maybe they can help you out.

On the Eurpopean site wouldn't it be under Media Centre??
I agree though. Try contacting Dell.

Yes Celtic_Druid you're right- damn yanks got me spelling wrong, its colour not color, and centre not center!

I got one last avenue finally found the Euro dell software/driver support/download site, but unlike the us site- it requires the unique dell code for his machine- currently at uni and can't remember the tag off the top of my head- will give that a shot- and if that doesn't work then looks like phoning them is my last port of call
