errr.... no not without a mem card + one of about 3 retail games + the game save for that game (i think)

it can be done with splinter cell retail disc too and a mem card and a way of getting the splinter cell game save onto the memory card

It needs a bit of thought before u jump in m8...

First off check your Dash and Kernal Version in the system info section of your Xbox.

Dash MUST be 4920 to install an expliot.
Kernal MUST be lower than 5530

If your dash is old u can upgrade it by bunging in a disc that has LiVE! on it (But don't actually connect to LiVE!, otherwise it will upgrade it too far).

...If your dash is too new it will have to be downgraded via FTP. (This involves more work than I can explain here, at this present time)

If u have the right Dash and Kernal, the safest and easiest exploit is the 007 or mechassault gamesave /audio exploit. (Morden's autoinstaller V2 is my personal fave, D/l from #xbins:)

...this will only install the exploit on E:, thus ensuring that NO system files on C: are touched!!

...If u read on you will see why the audio exploit is 'preferred' if u don't want to run the risk of 'potential' problems, or if u are just starting out on the road to learning how to exploit your Xbox.

If u opt for a gamesave / font exploit, u need to seriously consider how u r gonna use your Xbox as this makes changes to C:

There are numerous versions of the Font exploit:Bert and ernie, bert is cheating on ernie, bert and ernie reloaded, big fonts, catfish fonts.....

...Basically u name 'em and they probably exist :)

'Bert and ernie reloaded' are accepted as one of the 'safest' set of fonts. 'Safe' as in when u unplug your Xbox, and lose the internal capacitor power, and then plug it in again, its not unusual for your xbox to run into a continuos boot loop (Then again some people never get into a boot loop, a lot depends on user knowledge, some people install both font and audio for the best of both worlds!)

...This looping effect is rectifiable (Again, I will explian more on this if needed), but its not desirable either, some cases even have to take their HDD out to sort the problem, thus negating the idea of the exploit which is primarily to keep the Xbox intact!

...'Bert and ernie reloaded' help to combat the loop by automatically setting the internal clock to the 4th of July on boot up!

To sum up then...

You will need a game, 007 agent under fire or mechassault are favourite, must be the original versions, not game of the year or platinum.

...Splinter Cell will work, but Mordens autoinstaller is written for the other games.

You will need a method of getting the gamesave onto your mem card. Either a m8 with a modded box or an action replay. (but u cant use an action replay card 'cos it will corrupt the save! Use a genuine M$ card if at all possible)

...You should ideally have a network connection from your P.C to your Xbox to install some App's.
