just built my own pc have done this before without any problems.this one doing me nut in big time.
processor is amd 3000+
mobo gigabyte ga-7nnxp

the pc runs perfect at default settings but i have to set to 166x13 to get my proccessor recognized as being a 3000 now at this setting pc starts up ok and boots but will only run for a short period before it reboots itself any help would be very much appreciated coz i really wanna let this baby loose see what it can do

heat is the first thing you should look at. check the temp of the cpu from the bios or within a supplied app if you have one. do you have thermal paste on the cpu, adequate fans, adequate psu for the job.

thermal paste yep
550 watt dual fan psu
cpu temp 62 c
system temp 44 c
also going to install 2 extra fans tomoz

if your temp is 62 at idle then I think thats kind of high.
