Hi,

I am contemplating whether to go with the core or premium.

Wireless controller isn't a huge factor for me.
I don't have a HD tele, so the extra cable is not needed.
I have a wireless network, so won't need the ethernet cable (XBox 360 does support wireless doesn't it?)

XBox Live, I may be playing PES6 online so do I need the silver membership? Or are there free alternatives? Or if I do, how much will it cost separate?

That leaves the 20GB hard drive. How useful is it, i.e. what can I do with it? With and without any mods? Also, if I go for core, how easy would it be to put a hard drive in, in the future? Say a larger one?

Anything else I missed?

Cheers.

Honestly man, I hate to say it, if you don't have an HDTV then purchasing a 360 is kind of a waste of money. In order to truly see the graphical picture improvement over the regular XBOX, you will need an HDTV.

i wouldn't say a waste of money, still looks better than last gen, he could always buy the vga lead and hook it upto pc monitor to get Hi Def playback, cheaper alternative

BOBBINS!

get one, I run mine on a semi-shite bush 32inch crt with an rgb scart cable and it looks fantastic, much better than my old xbox and totally blows away ps2.

get the hard drive an all, mines full of music, arcade games and demos and i didnt think i would use it too much.

hello m8

got premium package at weekend.

Wireless controllers are a bonus.

I dont have a HD tv but am still impressed by the graphics when compared to PS2.

xbox live is spot on, however, to play games on line you need gold membership. I got a months free with my console. Silver seems to give you access to demos etc. For the old arcade games like street fighter 2 you need to buy credits. Games cost about 800 credits and to puchase them its 8.50 for 1000 credits.

I would get the premium package mate

sure the graphics are much better on a HDTV than a normal one but to say if you don't have one then it's really a waste of money is a little TTT IMO, games like Dead Rising, Just Cause, Fight Night still look and play so much better than the xbox or ps2 does to warrent buying one

I would def get the hdd. You can download tons game demos and movies. I don't even own a 360 game yet but I have around 15 playable demos to mess around with. You can add a hdd to a core very easy it just snaps in. Theres no official word from MS but I'm sure they will come out with larger hdds soon as 20gb just isn't enough!
