Anyone repair latops on here, or know somewhere thats cheap

I got a Advent 7006 and the moniter has gone on it. Its still working as when i first power it up it displays properly then flickers slightly and then switches off. I can plug an external moniter in and all is fine, if you tilt the screen at the right angle with the light catching (the angle dosnt make the screen work just the way the light reflects of the screen) the screen you can acctually see the display on the screen if you know what i mean, just extremely faint and can only make out slight features like white icons etc. I think its just the screen, i have formatted the HD and reinstalled windows but still the same so its not the drivers. Im guessing its just a loose connection but i dont fancy taking it apart tho, its 3 half years old now so the warrenty is out of date. If i do open it up myself will that mean that i can never claim on insurance for it or anything? Its not insured now but it might be at a later date ;)

i want to get this repaired as i want to give it to my missus to use while she is away.

Thanks 1k

Sounds the invertor m8. Thats the board that powers backlight on the screen. These are about £15

Hello m8, found this place on the net http://www.rogerhenson.com/parts.php?db=9
which has a inverter for my Laptop. Is their any other places on the net that i can get these from?

Ive tried looking for documentation on takling my laptop apart but no luck, ive taken all the screws of the bottom and side and tried taken the bottom off but no luck, it doenst seem to wanna come off, their isnt no more screws to take off but i dont wanna force it to much in case i break it.

Phoned up a company this morning and they say that it could be a tube fault or backlight fault? could this be the case? Anyway they quoted me £120 ffs. is this normay, i dont really wanna pay alot cause im tight lol.

backlight fault sounds possible

as does £120, I dont know what you were expecting m8 but screen repairs arnt cheap. Depends if you think its worth paying for to get fixed or if its better selling it as faulty and getting a new one

invertor board is at faulty very common problems on most laptops
not likely to be the light itself at fault
just the power board
