Hitachi Wont eject! - Not flash problem
Ive got a customers xbox in which he has tried to flash himself and tried the cross wire trick to get it into mode B.While doing this he thinks he has shorted it out....
I can access the drive ok and it does NOT eject manually or when using button on connectivity kit BUT will eject via my computer.
Anybody else had this and repaired it?

could be a couple of things did he update with the latest firmware as one of the firmwares has an issue with would not eject because of it and if you updated it with GARYOPA V2.1 it fixed it, if he used the latest firmware then it sounds like he damaged the eject control pin, if he flashed it ok then he should still be able to play the games but would need to manually put the games in the tray himself which is a pain in the arse, my m8 did this and decided it was better to buy another drive and take the key out of the old drive and put it into the new drive and it worked fine and that was from a Hitachi to a Samsung as well.

Read the same on a thread over @ Xbox Scene. I'm pretty sure the concensus was that it had shorted during the wire trick. I'm only going from memory but I think a poster indicated that it could be fixed. I think replacing 2 resistors or something. Might be worth a read up over there.

You can manually open it by taking out the 6 screws, removing the cover then sliding the white plastic part near the front until the tray comes open. Or you can rotate the tray motor by hand.
