I'm downloading using azureus 2.5 and a warning box keeps popping up saying Tracker blah blah 'Do not hammer !'
What does it mean and how can i solve it because its downloading really slow.
Thanks

In computer world, hammering means trying to connect to a site/FTP/server repeatedly without a "pause" time between unsuccessful attempts. That's bad and everybody (except the one who's hammering :)) hates it.

I hope someone who uses the same client will help you on this. I do not use Azureus, only tried it once long time ago. I think there is a setting that you've overlooked.

Why do i keep getting error message "Do Not Hammer" in Azureus?
This error is recieved simply because the tracker has an anti hammer feature for clients that update the announce to frequantly as azureus constantly updates announce it is the only client that gets this error to change the announce frequancy Go under options->tracker->server and change "Tracker client poll interval (secs) - Minimum to 1800(30 mins) also changed the "Scrape interval as %age of announce" to 1800 to be safe this should end all hammer messages as theres no need for a client to update the announce anymore than ever 10 minutes and the tracker is set to update stats every 30 mins any more often will just increase the server load which is something no site needs

Great! I believe this will help many other Azureus users.
