xbox cristal help for novice!

bought an xbox chipped from bst, cant get it to boot with chip on!

had to wait a week just for it to be posted and dont want to be out even more money and time so want to have a go myself.(wont do this without sellers permission)

dont know what chip it is, he says hold power button for 2 secs to turn on and a evo x will show on the screen. he recons its a loose connection from delivery.

any ideas?

sounds like an alladin chip, or duo-x , but could possibly be a different flavour.

what exactly is it doing when you turn it on with the chip enabled?

very much sounds to me like the chip has come dislodged or possible fallen off the pin header, ive had it happen to me before now, lol.

or


depending on how the chip was soldered in, i.e. wired in, wires could of been disconnected, which is a bit more worrying, more force needed for this to happen.

its also entirley possible for fractures and dry joints in the soldering to occur due to either bad soldering or excessive force on the console in delivery.

best thing to do is ask the seller if you can open it up and have a look, i would presume its gonna save both of you some postage costs.

i wouldnt of thought he wouldnt have a problem with it, it may just be a case of pushing the chip back on the pinheader :D
