howdy guys,

i'm at my wits end and need some help from the experts.
i have just started downloading rar files from ftp site and for some reason cant unrar them, i've tried
1. new version of windows (XP)
2. new flashfxp
3. re-downloading rar files several times
4. burning them onto disk and trying on my laptop
and i still get the samr crc errors, but heres the weird part.
i found an old disk with xbox iso on and when i unrared it straight from disk it worked, when i put the same files on my hard drive and tried to unrar them from there. CRC ERROR. i'm pulling my hair out guys and if i cant sort it i'm gonna have to start pulling out my missus's cos i'm a number 2 as it is.
for the sake of my girlfriends ponytail, PLEASE HELP ME.
cheers in advance.

the rar files might be corrupt.

When you have problems with compressing/decompressing/downloading/copying compressed files, you need to check the system & CPU temps and also your RAM. Overheating and/or bad RAM will make the compressed files corrupted (and hence, the CRC error) when you perform these operations.

Download, install then run Everest Home (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html) to check the system and CPU temps. If they're too high, you'll need better cooling.

To get a memory test tool, go here (http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp). You'll need to switch to the extended test mode because the basic test mode will run by default.

could be your hard drive thats creating the errors,i had something similair on one of my hard drives, everytime i tried to unrar a file came up with errors,
yet if i moved the file to another hard drive, then urared it was fine.
