Will it be flashable ?
My 360 went tits up last night - 3 red lights of doom :(
Had flashed it myself back in MAY no problem whatsoever with my NF4 motherboard.(the drive was a Samsung)
So my questions are : -
1) Are all 360's in the UK flashable ?
2) If the answer to this is 'no' then would I still be able to extract the 'key' from the new one so I could use my old Samsung drive ?
3) Are the Hitachi drives as easy to flash as the Samsungs ?
Cheers

1) should be, but you may get a sammy m28 which is abit tricker but can be done still
2) yes
3) yes, even easier as done in windows

Cheers for the reply burpy,
think I will go out and get one today - if it turns out to be an MS28 drive I will send it off to one of the guys on BST for flashing. Done some research on these drives and they seem like a ***** to flash (and im not sure if its even possible on a NF4 chipset).
Thanks again

There are a few very new Hitachis about that can't be done, the latest v59, but you will most likely get a flashable one. MS28 are easy if you can solder. I can flash them if you don't want to do it yourself.
You would be best off extracting the key and putting it into your Samsung anyway if you get a Hitachi as the firmware is newer and has stealth mode. Let me know if you need any of the software/instructions.
edit: just saw your post on BST, so ignore everything i just said :)

Cheers mp3boy - just saw your post on bst after I got sorted with P.J.
I panicked a bit initially after emailing the only 2 thread starters I could find earlier on that offered a flashing service - One hasn't replied and the other knocked me back on the grounds that it was a ms28 drive..
