I've got a problem with my laptop CPU. It keeps maxing out at 100% which freezes the laptop and makes everything really very slow.
Does anyone know the problem and how to fix this ?
Help appreciated.
What processes are using all the CPU power?
Ctrl+Alt+Del
Click on processes tab, then sort by CPU (% being used)

The main processes are:
- Explorer.exe (usually around 97 - 99)
- wmplayer.exe
- firefox.exe
Also, sometimes its just shoots from say 5% straight to 100% if I e.g. go to a new web page.
My processor is: Mobile AMD Sempron Processor 3000+

This happens with Windows Media Player too sometimes. When i'm using wmp it sometimes maxes out the processor to 100&
I have only ever seen explorer use that much processor power, and that was when i was fixing my mates laptop (see my thread).
It was a virus/malware/spyware constantly trying to get Windows Explorer to access the internet, when whatever was removed the problem went away.
