Ok so I have searched over the forums a bit looking for answers this morning. I have been outta the scene for some time but I see that 360 mods are out now. I read about the difference in drive and that there are a few ways to do things. I'm looking for any opinions on what the best method is right now. Chances are I would just buy a second XB360 and keep my current one for live so I dont think that LIVE is much concern. Can anyone give me a recommendation for the best success on choosing a mod? Or even point me in the direction where I can read up on it more. Some of the things I have read on the boards others have replied as outdated so I really don’t know what I'm looking at sometimes. I'm more than happy to do my own research but I'm getting lost over the last couple hours of surfing. :round:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you have 2 360's then you really have nothing to fear. You don't need a mod (as in chip) just the drive firmware re-flashed.

Best tried and tested are Xtreme 3.3 for Samsung and (in my humble opinion) GARY OPA's 7in1 XTRM 1_3 for Hitachi.

If you're lucky then either is a piece of cake (if you have the right PC mobo etc), if you're unlucky you are in for a hell of a lot of messing to get it to work.

When you say PC MB is that my "PC" one or the one inside the 360?

Can anyone point me to a thread or site that might have the info I need to read up on?

First off do you have Hitachi or Samsung? If you have the F/W revision (specially if Samsung) that will also help

What firmware is the drive (will be printed on the labbel inside) what SATA chipset do you have on your motherboard?
