can the xboox 360 hitachi drive be modded

as above can the firmwire be changed like the samsung.
is the latest version of the hitachi v2.1 the one that can be used.

I read the forum faq and it has that it cant but I download a tutorial from xbox-scene and it had tutorial for both of them below

alot of changes have come about since the faq was written. Do you know what model hitachi you have?

I think there is only one model that can not be modded on the hitachi but someone more knowledgable about 360's might confirm this.

The model is printed on the label on top of the drive, 2 numbers then 2 letters eg 47DJ

Latest firmware is v2.1, i'm using OPA-XTREME-HITACHI-7IN1-V2_1.

The only ones that can't be modded are some of the newest V59s. Most of the ones around are v46 and v47 which you'll have no problems with.
